Lee was a standout in both basketball and baseball at Decatur High School. Lee earned a scholarship to Bradley in both sports. He was Bradley’s outstanding athlete in 1954-44. Named the Most Valuable Basketball Player back-to-back years, Lee was both team MVP and All-American in baseball in 1956. He was a member of the 1954 Bradley basketball team that finished second at the NCAA tournament and member of the 1956 Bradley baseball team that finished 3rd at the College World Series. Lee played professionally for the Pittsburgh Pirates and later retired at the triple-A level. Lee passed away in 2010.
