Decatur High’s top track & field athlete, Lee Sentman Jr. ran hurdles for Decatur High in the late 1920’s, where he finished fourth and second in the 220-yard low hurdles in 1925-1926. In 1930, Lee set a world record in the 120-yard hurdles when he competed at the Kansas Relays. A letter winner at the University of Illinois in 1929, 1930, and 1931, his time of 7.4 seconds in the indoor 60-yard hurdles in 1931 was the fastest time recorded by a U of I track athlete.
