Ty Mason played linebacker and offensive guard for the Generals. He earned all conference, honorable mention all state, area defensive player of the year and team MVP honors as a senior while playing on both sides of the line. Ty was the second leading tackler in the league during his high school career. Although he was a year younger than his older brother, he blocked for Jad that made the playoffs his junior year. Ty’s football team, in three years, held a record of 19-7, where he racked up an impressive 64 tackles in 4 games. Ty also played baseball for the Generals but went on to play football in college for the Arkansas Razorbacks as a linebacker.
