A MacArthur grad, Jerelene was Herald & Reviews Athlete of the year in both 1983 and ‘84. Jerelene also won back-to-back state championships for Decatur in 1983. And in 1984 her high jump of 5 foot 10 inches won her another state title. Jerelene was also a standout volleyball player and played at the University of Florida in both sports. While a Gator, Jerelene placed 3rd in the High Jump with 5’9 at the SEC Indoor Conference Track & Field competition. Jerelene also played volleyball for Illinois Central College in Peoria, IL from 1985-86 after playing in Florida and played two years on an athletic scholarship at Southwest Missouri State University.
