Although our next hall of famer wasn’t very tall, she claimed she was 5-foot-5 but according to her former Millikin teammate and coach, Lori Kearns, Paula was closer to 5’3 1/2 ”. Paula Keller was a multisport high school athlete that achieved Big 12 All Conference and All Macon County honors for three sports her senior year: Basketball, Softball and Volleyball. Additionally she was recognized as the Breakfast Optimists SDHS Student-Athlete of the year. Paula led Stephen Decatur to the Sweet 16 in basketball as a junior. Her senior year she averaged 17 points and 4 assists.
In college Paula continued her love for playing multiple sports and played four years of Basketball and Softball for Millikin University. She received All American for basketball, Academic All American for Softball and was recognized as a member of the All CCIW Conference team. She was inducted into the Millikin Athletic Hall of Fame in 1993 and she is the No. 5 all time leading scorer in Millikin women’s basketball with 1,442 points.
